LangPortfolio Privacy Policy

Overview

LangPortfolio is an Android app for recording your language portfolio, CEFR levels, goals, progress milestones, language-family map, and exportable share cards.

This policy explains what information may be stored or processed when you use LangPortfolio and the website at langportfolio.app.

Information you add to the app

You choose what language information to enter. This may include:

• Languages in your portfolio.
• CEFR levels or native-language status.
• Language goals and target years.
• Progress milestones and previous portfolio snapshots.
• App settings such as theme mode and display preferences.

Local storage and cloud sync

LangPortfolio can store your portfolio data locally on your device. If you choose to sign in, the app may sync your portfolio data using Supabase so that your information can be backed up and restored.

When you sign in, authentication information such as your email address, account identifier, and session information may be processed by Supabase for login and sync purposes.

Google Sign-In

LangPortfolio may use Google Sign-In to help you sign in. The app does not receive or store your Google password. Google may process information according to Google's own privacy policies when you use Google Sign-In.

Google Play Billing

If LangPortfolio offers paid features in the future, purchases and subscriptions are handled through Google Play Billing. Payment details are processed by Google. LangPortfolio may receive purchase status information needed to unlock app features, but it does not receive your full payment card details.

Exports and sharing

LangPortfolio can generate visual export cards from your portfolio, such as a level map or language-family card. These exports are created for you to save or share. They are not shared with others unless you choose to share them.

Website data

The langportfolio.app website is intended to be a simple informational website. It does not require an account and does not intentionally use advertising trackers. Your website host may still process basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, request time, and server logs to operate and secure the site.

How information is used

Information is used to provide the app's core features, including saving your portfolio, restoring synced data, displaying progress and goals, supporting exports, and managing purchase status if paid features are used.

Sharing of information

LangPortfolio does not sell your personal information. Information may be processed by service providers needed for app functionality, such as Supabase for authentication/sync and Google for Sign-In or Play Billing.

Data retention and deletion

Data stored locally remains on your device unless you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Synced data may remain in the cloud until it is deleted or until you request deletion.

Children's privacy

LangPortfolio is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us.

Security

Reasonable technical measures are used to protect app data, but no method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. When it changes, the effective date on this page will be updated.
